News & Views: Signs of Summer

Newsletter – Wednesday, June 15, 2022

Rob and Jinny are in Italy this week enjoying the company of family and friends. Rob’s a bit of an oenophile, so he’ll have fun sampling all the different wines that the region has to offer. And if you know Jinny, you know that she creates her own fun wherever she goes! Viaggi sicuri (safe travels) you two!

The official first day of summer is right around the corner, and for most people, that means spending more time outside enjoying the better weather. I love western PA because we’re blessed with having four distinct seasons, all of which have their own unique benefits. Summer is one of my favorite seasons, and I’m looking forward to putting some miles on my mountain bike!

Summer also means (at least for those of us that applied ourselves) no more pencils, books, or teacher’s dirty looks! For the rest of us, there’s summer school. I have three amazing daughters, and two of them are in school. Coco is 15 and just finished the 9th grade, and Lola is 11 and will be going into the 6th grade next year. Mila is 3, so she gets to come to work with dad to attend the on-site daycare that we provide to our staff. I think it’s an awesome benefit, but I’m not sure Mila would agree. I think she’d much prefer to stay home with mom!

The girls look forward to their summer break, and most days we appreciate having them around more.  To us, summer means camping, vacationing at the beach, and attending concerts, fairs, and festivals.  We know that the time we spend and the memories we make together are what’s truly valuable.

Another sign of summer is higher energy bills. Between heating the pool (and topping it off with water) and cranking the AC, it seems like my utility bills all take a hit in the warmer months. And speaking of energy, did you know that Tuscano writes Energy & Environmental Risks? From energy extraction and pipeline construction, environmental contractors and consultants, and commercial waste haulers to petroleum manufacturers and distributors, the Tuscano Agency has the markets and the underwriting expertise to help you be successful in placing these types of risks. Recyclers in particular are a class of business that has faced some market disruption recently, and we’ve been able to capitalize on that. If you have any of these types of risks that are looking for a new home, give our Brokerage Team a call to discuss.

Register today for Energy Risks: What’s All the Buzz About? CE hosted by Nichole Reppert. Join us for free CE to learn more about the exposures inherent to energy risks. We’ll be hosting one session, and one session only for this CE. One CE credit is available to licensed agents in CT, MD, PA, NY & VA. Stay tuned we’ll be adding new states soon.

Have fun this summer, be safe, and don’t forget to apply plenty of sunscreen!

I'd love to receive feedback on how we are doing; call or drop me an email.
