News & Views: A mad rush to the end

How was your Thanksgiving? Isn’t that how we always greet each other the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend? Don’t tell Teri this but when the kids were small, I couldn’t wait to get back to work – 4 days off? I need to return to my routine! Not so this year. We had a lovely Thanksgiving meal, just the four of us. We still made turkey and the traditional sides, sat around and watched TV and just enjoyed our family time. I am hoping that you had the chance to spend time with family or loved ones, in person or digitally. That’s the thing about family – near or far, they always are!

I am thrilled to announce that we just completed an acquisition of a book of business that was with a small wholesaler in Vermont. Green Mountain Agency was a small family-run shop with a good deal of commonality with us in their mix of business and markets. This book extends our regional presence from Maine to Florida! In eight years, we’ve grown from a mostly Pennsylvania brokerage shop to a wholesaler working with brokers in 23 states! That’s pretty exciting, and in some ways daunting, especially in the midst of a pandemic!

I’d like to extend a very big Tuscano welcome to all of the new agents who joined us this week through the acquisition of the Green Mountain book or otherwise! We are a friendly bunch and we hope you will find value in working with Tuscano – a team of professionals who care; making our customer’s day with wholesale insurance solutions and a first-class customer experience.

As always, December is a mad rush for the finish line and we would like to help you with that. January 1 is a very traditional X-date for many policyholders. I know that your standard markets like to wrap everything up in a big package account “bow” but every once in a while, something slips through – like that client who is opening a new brewpub with 100% liquor-only sales! Yup – Tuscano CAN do it!

There are SO MANY ways to learn about the business we can help you place! Our web site has information organized around personal lines and commercial lines products. And we have a really great list of recently written accounts in your region. There’s even a cheat sheet for who to call for what type of coverage. You may think of Tuscano for trucks, contractors or habitational business, because why yes, we are quite good at writing this business! But we also have teams of underwriters that are dedicated to expertly writing many of the other classes of business that land on your desk.

We even offer weekly webinars, often times with CE credits that will help you tackle some of those tough to write risks. If you are a GMA Agent, check out one of our onboarding webinars that can jumpstart your opportunity quotient right out of the gate! We may not be mailing out flyers anymore, but there is no shortage of opportunity to learn about the products and services we offer. Even if you are a Tuscano fan from way back, there is something for everyone.

Have a great week!
