The tradition of marking a new year dates back over 4,000 years to ancient Babylon, where it symbolized rebirth and a renewal of life and fertility. Later, Romans dedicated January to Janus, the god of beginnings, reinforcing the theme of transition.

While January 1 is widely celebrated due to the Gregorian calendar, many cultures have their own New Year festivals (e.g., Lunar New Year, Rosh Hashanah, Nowruz), all emphasizing rebirth and new opportunities.

As we turn the page to 2026, we’re energized by new beginnings—and proud to carry forward the same unwavering commitment to excellence that you count on every day. To bring our teams together and set the course for the new year, our office will close at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14 for our Annual Meeting. We’ll use this time to celebrate 2025 accomplishments and look ahead to 2026, reviewing the strategies and initiatives that will help us achieve our shared goals.

Our office will be closed on Monday, January 19 to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, and to honor his life and legacy.
