August 25th, 2025

It’s hard to believe it, but summer is almost over! In a few short weeks we’ll have closed the books on August, heralding the (unofficial) start of the fall season. Our last day of summer hours will be Friday, August 29, after which we will resume normal business hours. The office will be closed on Monday, September 1, to celebrate Labor Day.

Summer—full of sunshine, vacations, and long evenings—has a way of flying by faster than we’d like. Whether you spent it at the beach, the mountains, or just enjoying a little extra daylight in your own backyard, we hope it brought you moments of rest, adventure, and joy, and that you were able to create some special memories with the people that are most important to you.

But with every season’s close comes a new beginning—and for many of us, that means the back-to-school season is here! Kids are trading in swimsuits for backpacks, pencils, and fresh notebooks. Schedules are finding their rhythm again, and businesses are gearing up for the fall push. There’s a certain excitement in the air as families settle back into routines and look ahead to what’s next.

For some families, this season brings big changes—like sending a child off to college for the first time. That’s the case at our house, as we prepare to drop our oldest child off for her freshman year. It’s a milestone that tugs on the heartstrings and has me asking “How did she grow up so fast?” I’m very proud of the young woman that Coco has grown into. She’s very smart, funny, and kind. I’m also excited for her, because I know she’s going to have a wonderful college experience, make some great friends, and create lasting memories. It’s also a little sad, because she doesn’t need her mom and I to satisfy her every need, she’s becoming her own person, and that can be hard to reconcile.

Just like students need the right school supplies, your clients need the right coverage. And if you’ve got clients in the recycling industry, now’s the perfect time for a coverage check. From scrap metal yards to paper processors, recycling operations face unique risks—fire hazards, equipment breakdown, environmental exposures—and we have markets that get it, with coverage that’s as reliable as a fresh pack of #2 pencils. Give one of the talented members of our brokerage team a call today to learn how we can help you protect your recycling clients.

Here’s to school buses, lunchboxes, bittersweet goodbyes, and turning old into new—whether it’s soda cans or smart insurance solutions. Let’s make this fall a win for everyone!

As always, I’d love to hear how we’re treating you. Please call or drop me a line to let me know!

Cheers,

Robin
