Today and every day I am proud to be an American. We are far from perfect as either a culture or a people, but whether you lean to the left, right, or center, we have a lot to be proud of. I believe we live in the greatest country in the world and I wish all people could share in the freedom and human rights that we enjoy.
George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson – three of the most diverse thinkers that ever set out to build a nation – were not perfect or pure, but they fought hard to make sure that our country’s foundation was strong and unshakable. They tapped into the core of the human spirit and etched these truths on the soul of our nation: that all men are created equal, they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, and that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Today, I would like to make a Declaration of Great Service. Throw off the tyranny of lousy customer service. Abolish the indignity of unreturned phone calls. End once and for all the repeated injuries and usurpations by despotic companies who refuse to deliver the business value you are looking for.
