News and Views: The Roles Are Changing

Newsletter – Thursday, July 1, 2021
I've been writing this newsletter for over 30 years! I have shared anecdotes, insights, some family foibles, history, and maybe a few rants. This is probably the most important newsletter I've ever written because it has to do with the next 30 years of the Tuscano Agency.

As president of the Tuscano Agency, I have been committed to the independent agency model. One of the most important responsibilities I have had was to lay out a perpetuation plan. After several years of putting the plan into action, I can clearly see that my replacement can be as good or better at this job and that's how I know it's time to make this change.

I am very happy to announce that effective immediately, Robin Tuscano is stepping into the role of President of the W.N. Tuscano Agency. Robin is a dedicated and talented insurance professional. Over the past several years he has managed our largest production team and has been a valuable member of our executive leadership team. He has proven to be a smart and capable leader and he understands our core business. Most importantly, after 24 years of on-the-job training, he knows what it means to be a servant leader and cares deeply about the people here and the legacy of service and underwriting integrity of Tuscano. Stepping into the role of President means that Robin will take over responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of the Tuscano Agency.

But that's not all. In addition to Robin stepping into the role of president, Jeremy George and Ryan Stabile are also taking on executive leadership roles. Jeremy is now the Executive Vice President of Partner Relations. He will focus on elevating our profile with our customers and keeping all of us at Tuscano plugged in to what you want from us. Ryan will step into the role of Executive Vice President of Underwriting. He will set the course for underwriting and underwriting support services and make sure we have the tools and systems in place that support a thorough understanding of risks and exposures, the market, and our ability to efficiently service our business throughout its life cycle.

Finally, you are probably wondering what this means for Jinny and me. We will be taking a supportive step back! My new role as CEO of the Tuscano Agency means I will be responsible for the overall financial health of the Agency and will weigh in on major corporate decisions, or when I think it is important. I still plan to come to work most days and hope to continue in a role as ambassador for the agency. Jinny will step into the role of COO and will continue to do that thing she does only with a bit less day-to-day responsibility and a more project-based focus.

This change has been in the works for many years. Jinny and I have been very intentional about passing the torch to a new generation of the Tuscano family and we believe that Bill would be very proud of Robin, Ryan, and Jeremy for the passion and skill they bring to this company every day. They will step into roles that come with a greater burden of care and oversight, but we have all the confidence that they too will always prioritize the interests of our organization and our team members over self-interest. We know that our values are theirs: integrity, exceptional customer service, valuing people, innovation, and professionalism. Please join me in congratulating Robin, Ryan, and Jeremy!

This Independence Day will be all the sweeter having shared our plans to remain your independent Insurance Broker of choice! Don’t forget our office will be closing early on Friday and will be closed on Monday for the holiday.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend and I hope you find time to reunite with family and friends!
