News & Views: In all things, give thanks

It’s 7:00PM, and I’ve just finished my dinner. I head to my home office to get caught up on the work (which of course is aspirational) that I had to let ride today because my time was devoted to meetings with my team, strategy meetings and one on one time with my managers. Every once in a while, I resort to after-hours work because I can get stuff done without interruptions. Don’t feel sorry for me though because I am the least hard-working person on my management team! What’s funny is Esther, my Bernedoodle (like Yankee Doodle only with a Bern) puppy will come in to my office and insist on playtime. How does she know that dad needs to work?
 
We’re all working a little overtime so we can take time off for the Thanksgiving holiday, right? The thing about Thanksgiving, besides the thanks giving part, is your food traditions. In our family it is the creamed onions. NO ONE in our family likes creamed onions, but my mom always made them – it was tradition! There’s one thing to be said though for smaller family gatherings this year though - you can finally skip the traditional dishes you never really cared for!
 
This Thanksgiving will be very different because there won’t be 28 Tuscanos gathering; but despite this I am still looking forward to celebrating all that I have been blessed with: 
 
  • I am thankful for the 100 Tuscano employees who come to work every day and give their best
  • I am thankful for the 1600 brokers who choose to do business with Tuscano – I am humbled by their patronage
  • I am thankful for the 35,000 new business applications you sent us to work on and the tens of thousands of policies you trusted us to place for you
  • I am thankful every time the phone rings, and for Tami and Gina who faithfully answer every time it does (except between noon and 1PM when we are closed for lunch…)
 
I could go on and on, but I truly am thankful, even in uncertain times, that I am blessed to lead and work with an amazing group of people in a profession I love and that together we are going to tell our story over and over again to anyone who will listen! Tuscano CAN Do It! You can choose to do business with plenty of wholesalers, but I am thankful you pick us. Every time you do, we’re committed to making certain you are thankful you chose Tuscano.
 
Here’s a tradition you can celebrate this Thanksgiving, play the Arlo Guthrie classic, Alice’s Restaurant. You didn’t know it is a holiday classic, did you? Tuscano is closed on Thanksgiving and the Friday following, November 26 and 27. We will be back hard at work for you on Monday, November 30.
