RLI PUP ENDORSEMENT PROCESSING PROCEDURES & TIPS

RLI is somewhat unique in the Policy Change Endorsement procedures. Here are some tips to help you understand what they do and do not issue a mid-term policy change for.

The Personal Umbrella Program (PUP) program was originally designed to save processing time and limit transactions once a new business policy was issued. This is the reason RLI limits the type of endorsements that are processed mid-term, without limiting the coverage in the policy.

The endorsements that RLI processes mid-term are:

  • Policy Limit Changes
  • Underlying Auto Limit Changes
  • Comprehensive Personal Liability (CPL) – FL ONLY
  • Addition or Deletion of Excess Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage (UM/UIM)
  • Removal of Deceased Insured or Named Insured with proper documentation
  • Primary or Mailing Address Change (Please be sure to specify which address is changing)
  • Addition of youthful operator

All other policy changes not listed above should be addressed during the renewal process when the insured can complete and update the renewal application. Examples include:

  • Number of Vehicles
  • Number of Properties
  • Number of Incidents (Violations or At-Fault Accidents)
  • Emails or Phone Numbers
  • Any information for all other underwriting questions that appear on the questionnaire
